The shiraz cabernet and merlot varieties used in Moonvine were crushed and co-fermented in open, traditional fermenters. This blend was matured in one- and two-year-old American oak barrels for 18 months, giving the wine the benefit and subtle flavours of oak maturation without detracting from the fruit.

It has a bouquet of strawberries, raspberries and dark cherries, augmented by the subtle oak. The palate is rich, flavoursome, full-bodied – yet smooth and soft. Lingering fruit flavours long after swallowed.

The mystical union of the moon and the vine is not entirely coincidental: it is now accepted that there is a symbiotic relationship between the phases of the moon and the progress of the vine.

The union of these three varieties has produced a wine of magnificent flavour, structure and depth. Due to its full body and rich cherry berry flavours, this wine is best served with cassoulet and all manner of roasts and barbecued meats.
